Here’s my linksys-sshd patch for the WRT54G. Extract and read the README inside. This requires the WRT54G source release 1.42.2. Good luck, have fun, and I’m totally not responsible for what you do with this, or if it breaks your hardware (which it well might). Read the instructions.
