Orinoco Silver into Gold?
There are some instructions for converting an Orinoco Silver card (40 bit) to Orinoco Gold (104 bit) here. I tried them, but I don’t think they worked. I can always set the 104 bit key, but it doesn’t seem to work with the AP.
In other news, I couldn’t use WEP on my Cisco card to talk to my
Linksys WRT54G AP. It turns out I had to set the key in at index 0
(1 according to iwconfig). Something like iwconfig eth1 enc
1234567890 1 then iwconfig eth1 enc 1. Or maybe echo 0 >
/proc/driver/aironet/eth1/WepKey. Then it works. Magical.
Time to try getting a shell on the WRT54G using the firmware which I successfully built earlier.
