Christmas time is here again, damn it

Went looking for things to put on my wish list so people could buy me something. Note that I don’t really want people to buy me anything, but they’re going to anyway so they’d like to know what to get me.

FindGift.com is working out well to keep my wish list. I checked out some price search engines today looking for Garmin MapSource CDs. (BTW, Garmin’s web site has been *ahem* unresponsive, tonight.) I think I like PriceGrabber, surprisingly BizRate.com, and DealTime. Price Watch is usually to be checked, but they’re still mostly only computer goods. I just checked out CNet’s Shopper.com which looks pretty decent too. I thought CNet bought iBuyer, or ran it, or something, but now both ibuyer.com and ibuyer.net don’t appear to be affiliated with them, nor particularly useful. MapSource is expensive, and I can’t even check to see if it’ll work with my eTrex Legend. Bastards.

I scraped my intention to make a UserInterface class in DarkWiki. Instead I’ve now got HTMLView. It was pretty quick to use with HTML::Mason. I had to use HTML::Mason::Interp->make_request, which is an undocumented call. It’s quite useful, though, and the only way I can find to make only one HTML::Mason::Interp instance but execute multiple components with potentially different output methods.
