		<description>Once I had similar symptoms:
smb_open: //.directory open failed, result=-13
smb_readpage_sync: //.directory open failed, result=-13

It turned out, that file (the .directory file on the share) had no proper permissions to be opened by users. After changing those privileges it worked fine.
